Team Information

Walking with a team is the best way to raise the most money for HIV/AIDS.  And it’s the most fun, too! 

AIDS Walk Philly Teams are simply groups of fundraising walkers consisting of 5 or more people.  Teams can represent companies, schools, organizations, communities, or even just a group of your friends and family.

Why should I form a team?

To Educate Others

Participating in the AIDS Walk Philly is a unique chance to educate others about HIV and AIDS.  We can provide your organization with speakers to talk about the Walk and the impact of AIDS on our communities.  Speakers can address your organization’s team kickoff, monthly meeting, school assembly, or gathering.  Forming a team at your company, school, or organization helps to educate others that AIDS is still a serious threat and gives you and your teammates an opportunity to talk to others about the importance of education and prevention.

To Demonstrate Your Commitment

It is a powerful show of solidarity the day of AIDS Walk Philly to see banners representing businesses, congregations, schools, neighborhoods, and families all committed to raising funds for AIDS prevention, education, and direct care services.  Your team presence will demonstrate your organization’s commitment to your community.  No one should feel alone in the fight against AIDS.

To Raise More Money

People who walk as part of a team raise more money.  Team members help to recruit additional walkers and encourage others to meet their fundraising goals.

To Have Fun!

Walking with a team is fun and helps make the 12 kilometers pass quickly.  A team can also be a great morale booster for your organization.  There is lots of entertainment along the Walk route, and everyone is invited to the free concert and refreshments following the Walk.
